Malaysia’s Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin self-quarantined on Friday after one of his Cabinet officers tested positive for the deadly coronavirus.

Yassin, however, tested negative for the virus, according to a statement by his office quoted by daily Strait Times.

He will self-isolate at home for 14 days as he attended a meeting with the infected Malaysian officer.

Those who were part of the post-Cabinet meeting on Thursday have been directed to follow similar measures.

Malaysia’s tally of virus cases is at 7,137, with 115 deaths.
