The Lebanese Minister of Interior and Municipalities, Mohamed Fahmy, issued a new circular today, Sunday, imposing a curfew at night in the country because of “the lack of commitment of many citizens to the measures of prevention and public safety”
According to the circular, “despite the government taking all health measures to ensure the health and safety of society, in addition to taking measures to reduce public mobilization to facilitate the lives of citizens,” many citizens showed “selfishness, disregard for and indifference to their health and the health of their communities, which presented and would endanger the lives of many to the imperative risk “.
And he added that “to ensure the continued control of the spread of the Corona epidemic, and to prevent the deterioration of the situation for the worse, as happened in many developed countries … it was decided to prevent going out and entering the streets and roads from seven in the evening until five in the morning the next morning.”
The circular warned that “in the event that some citizens continue not to comply with the instructions related to the procedures for prevention and public safety and avoid overcrowding and the adoption of masks to cover the mouth and nose and maintain safe distances between people, it will lead to a complete closure of all public and private departments, institutions, companies and commercial stores, except for the medical and health sector and equipment Military only, and preventing citizens from completely outside the streets. “
On Sunday, the Lebanese Health Ministry announced that 36 new cases of corona were recorded in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of cases nationwide to 845.
Yesterday, Saturday, Lebanese Health Minister Hamad Hassan expressed his fear of the return of the high rate of injuries, and suggested that the government would demand the closure of the country for two days, if the results remain within the next 24 hours.
