Jordan strikes Iran-linked drug traffickers inside Syria: Reuters

The Royal Jordanian Air Force has launched airstrikes inside Syrian territory against drug traffickers’ hideouts supported by Iran – as reported by Reuters.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights announced earlier Tuesday the death of a drug trafficker named Nasser Faisal Al-Saadi.

The Syrian Observatory, through its Twitter account, added that the drug trafficker Nasser Al-Saadi, who has ties to Hezbollah, is believed to have been killed by a Jordanian airstrike in the Salkhad area of the Sweida countryside.

The Jordanian Armed Forces announced Monday that a number of smugglers were killed and injured during the ongoing clashes between Jordanian Border Guard forces and armed groups on the northern borders since early Monday morning.

A source within the General Command of the Jordanian Armed Forces-Arab Army revealed the identities of eight out of the nine apprehended smugglers, and provided images of the seized weapons and drugs.

The source added that the quantity of confiscated drugs amounted to 4,926,000 Captagon pills and 12,858 kg of hashish, which were subsequently handed over to the relevant authorities.

The source emphasized that the Jordanian Armed Forces (JAF) will continue to deal firmly with any threat on any border front and any attempts to undermine the security of the kingdom and harm its citizens.
