Tuesday, the Anti-Narcotics Department (AND) of the Public Security Directorate (PSD) dealt with 20 drug-related cases across Jordan and arrested 31 drug dealers in possession of large quantities of narcotics and firearms.
In Ramtha, a total of two drug dealers were arrested in possession of 3.5 kg of crystal meth and 1,000 narcotic pills in relation to two cases.
In Mafraq, three cases were dealt with during which a total of five drug dealers were arrested in possession of 35 slabs of hashish and 24,000 narcotic pills.
In Amman, two drug dealers were arrested after ‘fierce resistance’ involving gunfire, during which 56 slabs of hashish, 4,000 narcotic pills and one firearm were seized. In another case, two drug dealers were arrested in possession of 39 slabs of hashish, 4,000 narcotic pills and a firearm.
In Ma’an, four dealers were arrested in relation to two cases. During the raids, a total of four slabs of hashish, 2,000 narcotic pills and two firearms were seized.
In Karak, a tent was raided and a drug dealer was arrested in possession of marijuana seedlings.
In Tafilah, two dealers were arrested with five slabs of hashish in their possession.
In Balqa, one drug dealer was arrested in possession of large quantities of marijuana seedlings.
In Madaba, one dealer was arrested and 8,000 narcotic pills, 56 gm of heroin and 100 gm of crystal meth were seized.
In Aqaba, two drug dealers were arrested in two separate cases and a total of 15 slabs of hashish, 15,000 narcotic pills and one kg of crystal meth were seized.
In Irbid, the AND worked on five cases and arrested two people in relation to one case and seized 13,000 narcotic pills and 22 slabs of hashish. In the second case, another drug dealer was arrested in possession of 23 slabs of hashish, 2,000 narcotic pills and two firearms. The third case led them to seize 4,000 narcotic pills and a quantity of hashish, as well as the arrest of two dealers. In the fourth case, a shop was raided, during which four dealers were arrested, and a total of 3,000 narcotic pills and half a kilo of crystal meth were seized. In the last case, one dealer was arrested in possession of 2,500 narcotic pills and a quantity of hashish.
