Moscow announced Wednesday the expulsion of 10 Norwegian diplomats after Oslo expelled 15 employees at the Russian embassy on accusations of espionage in mid-April 2023.
This came amid the deterioration of Moscow’s diplomatic relations since the start of the Russian military operation in Ukraine.
The Russian Foreign Ministry stated that it had summoned the Norwegian ambassador, Robert Kvile, and informed him of the expulsions as part of retaliatory measures, expressing its strong objections to Norway’s expulsion of Russian diplomats.
