The Qatar Ministry of Public Health on Saturday announced that it will amend the minimum age group eligible to receive the Coronavirus vaccine to include people who have reached 35 years of age.

This step comes within the framework of the implementation of the national strategy for vaccination against the Coronavirus in Qatar, which is witnessing a remarkable acceleration, as the number of doses that have been administered to people most vulnerable to complications from the disease reached 1.2 million.

“The amendment of the minimum age group eligible to receive the Coronavirus vaccine to 35 years or more comes within the efforts of the Qatari Ministry of Health to expand the range of community groups that are vaccinated and immunized against Coronavirus,” head of the National Health Strategy Group to address the Covid-19 pandemic and the head of the infectious diseases department at the Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), Abdul Latif Al-Khal, said in a statement on Saturday.
