Iraq eyes land transport line with Jordan, Egypt

Iraq has announced that it is looking forward for the opening of a land transport line with Jordan and Egypt to facilitate freight and passenger movement between the three countries.

Understandings have been already concluded between Iraq, Egypt and Jordan for the opening of a new land transport line, according to a statement by Director-General of the Iraqi government-owned Passenger and Delegations Transport Company, Karim Kazem Hussein.

In the same vein, Iraqi MP Talal Zobai said the three countries should seek closer economic and transport cooperation, referring to the importance of an August summit meeting that brought together His Majesty the King, the Egyptian president and the Iraqi prime minister here in Amman.
