2 buildings in Irbid isolated after bank employees test positive for COVID-19

AFAQ NEWS – A joint force of the gendarmerie and public security on Tuesday isolated two buildings east of the city of Irbid after two bank employees in the area tested positive for the COVID-19 yesterday.

Director of the Irbid Health Affairs Department Qasim Mayas told the Jordan News Agency (Petra) that the epidemiological investigation teams have collected more than one hundred samples of contacts with those infected, including bank employees’ colleagues, customers, families and neighbors, pointing out that more samples will be collected today.

Mayas also said that the bank was closed for 72 hours for sterilization, adding that it will resume work with new staff members.

The bank management said it may bring on employees from other branches if necessary to continue providing services to clients after ensuring a safe health and epidemiological situation at the bank.

An official source of the epidemiology committee and epidemiological investigation teams in the northern governorate said that so far, the source of the staff’s infection has not yet been tracked down.
