At least 4 people were killed and dozens injured by an earthquake that struck China.
The China Seismological Network Center said an earthquake of magnitude 5 struck southwest China’s Yunnan Province. The epicenter was 8 km away.
The authorities began rescue operations, and residents were evacuated from the damaged buildings to safe places. The number of evacuees has not been reported yet, but information indicates that the population of the affected area amounts to more than 5 million.
