One of the workers of the fish canning plant in the coastal city of Tema, has transmitted the infection of the new Corona virus, to 533 of his colleagues, said Nana Akufo Addo, President of the Republic of Ghana.
He added in a speech to the nation: “It is important to emphasize that 533 cases out of 921 new cases that were registered between Wednesday and Thursday, are workers of the fish canning plant in Tim. The infection has passed on to them all from one person.”
The Ghanaian leader instructed to extend the ban on mass gatherings and events until the end of May, and educational institutions will be closed. He urged the head of state to continue to observe the rules of personal hygiene and social distance.
According to the most recent data cited by the Ghanaian president, a total of 4,700 new HIV infections were discovered in the country, 494 people recovered and 22 died.
