Two separate traffic accidents in Mafraq and Ma’an governorates resulted in the deaths of a teacher and a man on Sunday.
In Mafraq, a teacher was involved in a tragic traffic accident when her vehicle crashed in the Northern Badia region. The teacher was taken to Al Badia Hospital, and an investigation into the incident has been launched.
The Directorate of Education for the northeastern Badia region expressed their condolences for the loss of the teacher who taught at Al-Aqib Secondary School for Girls.
In Ma’an, a man in his thirties died due to a fuel tank malfunction on Al-Shidiyah Road. The civil defense responded to the incident and transported the deceased to the nearest hospital.
Jordan recorded nearly 170,000 accidents in 2022, resulting in 562 fatalities and around 17,000 injuries, according to data from the Public Security Directorate. These statistics were released in commemoration of World Traffic Day and Arab Traffic Week a few days prior.
