A hot spell is forecast to grip the Kingdom on Wednesday, pushing temperatures high and bringing relatively hot conditions in much of the Kingdom. A scorching heat is expected in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba, the Jordan Meteorological Department said in its daily brief.
The weather department warned of direct exposure to sunlight, mainly at noon.
As we head into Thursday, the impact of the heatwave will intensify with mercury levels climbing up 4 to 6 degrees Celsius above annual average, bringing hot conditions in the highlands, while the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba are set to swelter in blistering weather, the forecasters said.
Friday and Saturday are expected to bring in similar scorching conditions with clouds at various altitudes, the JMD added.
The highs in Amman and other highlands across the Kingdom on Wednesday will range between 36 and 33 degrees Celsius, dropping at night to 22C or even 17C in the southern highlands.
In the Red Sea port of Aqaba, it will be much hotter with mercury reaching a high of 40C and a low of 29C.
