Needle-free Chinese injection for children approved

China’s Food and Drug Administration on Wednesday formally approved the marketing of needle-free syringes for children.

Director of the Department of Endocrinology at Peking University People’s Hospital, Ji Linong, said the locally produced needle-free “quinovare” has been confirmed by a global sample size study. ” It proved to be safer than needle injections, and patient acceptance and satisfaction are much higher than the traditional injection method,” he added.

According to reports, needle-free injection is based on the jet-flow principle to spray liquid medicine through the micro-gap smaller than a hair in an instant, directly penetrate the skin and reach subcutaneously. Injection without a needle is faster and softer compared to injection with a needle, as the whole injection process is painless.

According to the data of the Chinese Medical Association, there are currently more than 7 million children with short stature in China, who need daily growth hormone injections, which amount to about 550 injections, since the treatment course is generally set around 18 months.

“Because of problems such as “fear of needles”, children often had problems such as rejection of injections, scratches, and broken needles during injection, which seriously affected treatment,” the Association added.
