JMD expects usual summer weather in highlands, hot in other regions

 Normal summer conditions are expected to prevail in the highlands and the plains, while it will be relatively hot to hot in other parts of the Kingdom, with low clouds in the northern and central regions, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said in its forecast for Wednesday and Thursday.

The weather department warned of fog formation in the early morning hours over the heights, and of direct exposure to sunlight, mainly in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba.

On Friday, mercury levels will rise few degrees, making relatively hot conditions in the hilly areas and the plains, and sweltering weather in Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba, with northwesterly moderate to active winds, the meteorologists predicted.

The highs in Amman and other highlands across the Kingdom on Wednesday will range between 32 and 28 degrees Celsius, dropping at night to 20C or even 15C in the southern highlands.

In the Gulf city of Aqaba, it will be much hotter with mercury reaching a high of 40C and a low of 26C.
