Hot mass intensifies Monday, recedes following days-JMD

The heatwave roasting the Kingdom will reach its peak on Monday, with a slight rise in thermometer, bringing hot weather in the highlands, and blistering conditions in other regions, Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said in its daily update.
In its report, the JMD warned the public to avoid direct exposure to the sun at noon, keep children out of closed vehicles, drink fluids frequently, wear light-colored clothes and use protective head gear.
As for Tuesday, impact of the hot and dry spell will gradually taper off, and mercury will drop, however will remain higher than seasonal average by about 3-4 degrees Celsius, the report said.
On Wednesday, the hot spell will further recede, with another slight drop in mercury, bringing fair weather to the highlands and plains, and relatively hot conditions to the Badia, the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba, the JMD added.
Also on Monday, the maximum and minimum temperatures in Amman will range between 39Celsius degrees, dipping to 24C at night, while the Gulf of Aqaba will see a searing 45C, dropping to 30C during night hours.
