Saudi Arabia Sunday warned people against performing the Hajj pilgrimage if not in possession of clearance.
The Ministry of Interior said those who fail to present a clearance would be fined SAR10,000 (US$2,666), warning the fine could be doubled in case of reoffending, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
The decision, that will take effect through July 5 – July 23 2021, comes as part of the Gulf state’s effort to stem the spread of COVID-19, the Ministry explained.
