Gov’t exempts advertising companies from 50% of 2020 fees

 A cabinet session, chaired by Prime Minister, Bisher Khasawneh, on Sunday decided to exempt advertising and billboards companies from 50 percent of advertisement fees incurred on billboards for 2020.

The decision aims to ease pressures on companies working in the field of advertising and external advertising, within borders of the Greater Amman Municipality (GAM), the municipalities and the Ministry of Public Works and Housing, due to the Covid-19 pandemic and maintaining the sustainability of this sector, provided that amounts collected for the license of billboards is taken into account before the reduction decision takes effect, and the amount of the reduction is credited to the benefit of the license holder.

The cabinet also approved the framework agreement and the executive program for cultural cooperation with the government of Tunisia, within the framework of strengthening cultural relations and cooperation with brotherly Arab countries in the fields of culture and intangible cultural heritage, with the aim of enhancing cultural cooperation and exchange between the two countries.

On the other hand, the government decided to appoint Abdul Rahim Al-Hazaymeh as general manager of the Orphans Fund Development Corporation, according to the results of the competition conducted according to the system of appointment to leadership pipeline, and after scoring the highest results among all applicants for the job.
